One of the more recent additions to Modernism+ART20 is Leah Gordon of New York City. Though relatively new to the fair, Gordon is hardly a newcomer to the world of artists’ jewelry, which is her specialty.
Leah Gordon got her start 23 years ago. ”My first love was antique jewelry,” she says. ”Buying the best I could find was like going every day to Tiffany’s to shop.” Before long, these pursuits led her to artists’ jewelry. ”Not many people knew that artists like Picasso, Braque, and Calder made jewelry.”
So she started collecting jewelry objects by these and other modern designers such as Art Smith, William Spratling, and Harry Bertoia.
Many outstanding examples of pieces by these artists and more will be in her booth at Modernism+ART20 this year. Don’t miss it.
